As part of European Mobility Week, Paisley’s first sustainability event will be held in and around County Square on Saturday, 24th September, 2016 from 12 – 4pm.
This Paisley First event is designed to encourage people to think about smart and sustainable mobility. There are benefits to both the public and private sector, and from society at large to the individual. Sustainable mobility is an investment for the future.
Cycling is central to this unique event, but even if you’re not a keen bike enthusiast, there’ll be something for all the family. For youngsters, Smiley Train arrives into Gilmour Street and there’s entertainment from the world class Clan Stuntsmen, whose stunt riders are going to battle for supremacy in a series of nail-biting challenges in County Square.
We’ll have free bike servicing for those who come into the town centre on their bike and the chance to win a £500 voucher redeemable at one of our local bike suppliers. Sustrans, Free Wheel North and Visit Scotland, as well as other local organisations will highlight the benefits of cycling and walking, and generally, living a more sustainable, healthier and happier life. There will also be a selection of environmentally friendly cars on display, as well as some more unusual forms of transport for all ages and abilities
