Paisley First is looking to gauge feedback from town centre businesses regarding parking costs in Paisley.

Venues such as Paisley Museum & Library, Paisley Town Hall and Paisley Arts Centre will be closing their doors in the near future, and planned infrastructure works are likely to cause disruption in the town.

Whilst we welcome the investment into Paisley town centre, we have to work together to ensure any impacts are mitigated against for local businesses.

Given the recent u-turn on the introduction of parking charges for Johnstone and Renfrew, we believe the time is right to launch a campaign calling for a level of free parking on weekdays in Paisley town centre.

We believe that Free for Three is the way forward – offering free parking for three hours will allow visitors time to shop, run errands, and grab a bite to eat but will deter commuters who wish to park in Paisley and then take the train elsewhere.

However, before we take such a request to Renfrewshire Council, we want to know that the majority of BID businesses support this planned initiative.

If you wish to support this initiative or offer an alternative, please email with your views on parking costs within Paisley town centre.

We will be taking responses between now and 5 pm on Tuesday 25th September.

Alternatively, you can call the Paisley First team on 0141 237 8120 if you wish to discuss further.
