Rachel Patrick:   Age – 20 Years (Singer)

I’m 20 years old and originally from Glasgow, I moved out to Paisley 4 years ago when I met my partner, Josh, 18 months later I gave birth to our incredible daughter Amelia, who is now 2 and a half. Music has always played a massive part in my life, from playing instruments, to singing and just listening to music on a daily basis, it has always been my passion. I love listening to a variation of genres, anything from pop, r and b, soul, rock, indie, blues, to traditional Scottish music. I use my love for different styles of music as inspiration when I’m singing, using parts from each genre to create my own way of doing things.

Laura and Claire Murray:   Age – 20 Years (Both)

Claire’s Bio –

My name is Claire Murray, I am 16 years old and go to St. Andrews Academy in Paisley. I have always loved music and singing with my sister. Our family have always been so supportive of our music and I love spending time with them too. Seeing my sister perform from a young age inspired me to do the same. However, performing with her by my side gives me a huge confidence boost both on and off stage. Today we are performing song which we wrote together with great emotion and meaning. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do sharing it with you.

Laura’s Bio –

My name is Laura Murray, I am now 20 years old. I am studying commercial music at University of the West Scotland (UWS) Ayr Campus. I have been singing my whole life, started playing piano and writing songs in 1st year of secondary school. I used to compete in competitions such as open mic UK, etc. but always got so close and unfortunately didn’t win. However I did win skills and experience that helped me become a better artist and help my confidence on stage. I then took part in X-Factor 2015 where a lot of peoples’ auditions and boot-camp auditions were not aired on national television including myself. I made it to the final 20 girls that year and unfortunately I was let go. This totally knocked my confidence as a singer and as a person. I didn’t realise just how much until people asked me why I wasn’t competing in any singing competitions or playing any gigs or anything as much anymore. My little sister actually was the one who saved me from this, she is 16, she started singing with me and we wrote a few songs together. People started to call us the ’Scottish Lennon and Maisy’. She has helped me with my confidence and helped me believe in myself again. I then went to camp America and worked at a special needs camp in New Jersey for adults and children with special needs. I sang to them almost every day and night and they told me I should pursue my career further and that they would come and see me if I toured there. So this year was meant to be the year I started getting everything all ready to try my hardest to get there. I’ve had a few knock backs with my health and other things and had to get an operation but now I am fit and ready to get to where I want to be. It’s always been my dream to tour and to get my music out there. Music has been there for me through times of joy, sadness, happiness, hurt and heartbreak. It has helped me through hard times, and I want to give back and let my music speak to people.

We hope you enjoy our song filled with emotion, heartbreak but joy and positivity too.

Megan Lauder:   Age – 15 Years (Singer)

I have been signing since I was a little girl and have a passion for musical theatre and hope to make it my job one day. My favourite musicals are Wicked and the Rocky Horror Show. My biggest inspiration in singing would have to be Idina Menzel, she played the original Elphaba in Wicked on Broadway.

I will be singing ‘I can’t help falling in love with you’ by Elvis Presley.

Adam Dolan:   Age – 14 Years (Guitarist & Singer) – requires seat or stool.

Adam is a pupil of Johnstone High School and he has messed about with a guitar since he was about 5 years old, learning to play it properly from about 10 years old, and has improved over the last 4 years. He has always sung about the house, wrote wee songs of his own and entertained us at family gatherings. He recently played and sang at a school concert to a bigger audience than his family, where none of his friends really knew how keen he was at music and I think he surprised his friends and even himself with the response he got. This is quite a big step for him and he is singing Ed Sheeran, Tenerife Sea. Ed Sheeran and Paulo Nutini are probably two of his favourite artists. I don’t think Adam needs anything but himself and his guitar which is an electric acoustic and would normally be plugged into an amplifier which I presume you will have, I am not so into technical stuff myself, I will ask him to put his adaptor in his guitar bag and hopefully that is all he would need.

The highlight of Adam’s playing so far is playing alongside Tommy Smith at the Royal Conservatoire in Glasgow Summer School 2016. Most recently Adam has participated in the Paisley 2021 Gerry Rafferty event and was highlighted in the official video.
