Paisley First is calling on BID members to help them step up the fight against increases in business rates by lodging appeals before it’s too late.

BID members should have now received their 2017 Business Rates Valuation Notice from the Scottish Assessor.

Businesses only have six months to appeal these new rateable values otherwise, they will be locked into them for the next five years. The published deadline for submitting appeals is 30th September 2017.

Paisley First has appointed Colliers International, who are experts in the field of business ratings, to work with all BID members who are facing an increase in their business rates to ensure that they are not squeezed out of business. Please click HERE for our updated May 2017 Business Rates Information Sheet.

Paisley First Chairman Ian Henderson said:” If your business rates have increased and you wish to lodge an appeal, it is imperative that you contact Paisley First as soon as possible so we can get Colliers International working on each case straight away.”

“This service is being provided at no extra cost to BID Members. Colliers will complete all the necessary paperwork and meet with the assessors on behalf of each business – all the BID member has to do is give Paisley First written permission that Colliers can act on their behalf.”

In order to see how these new business rates affect you, or to begin the appeals process, please contact BID Manager Andrew Mitchell as soon as possible on 0141 237 8120.
